E-Rate

E-Rate, also known as the schools and libraries program provides discounts to assist schools and libraries in obtaining telecommunication services and Internet access. Discounts range from 20% to 90% and is dependent on the level of poverty of the school and whether it is in a rural or urban area. The application process begins each November for the next year beginning July 1.

E-Rate and KanREN

KanREN works with the Universal Service Fund to provide E-Rate discounts to its members. Applicants must use KanREN's SPIN #143005645 when filing their annual forms. Members can select to receive their discounts either by receiving a discounted invoice or by filing Form 472 to receive a reimbursment. Members can change how they receive their discount by contacting erate@kanren.net.
