User Quarantine Tutorial

Domains using the KanREN anti-spam/anti-virus email firewall can opt to use quarantining on the device. When the domain is configured to use quarantining, users will receive a summary email each day. While the system is extremely simple to use, this tutorial show answer most questions.

If you have questions not answered by this tutorial, please contact the Network Operations Center at 866-984-3662.

  1. User receives an email informing them of messages sitting in the quarantine on the spam firewall.

From within the email, users have several links to enter the Barracuda's interface and delete the message, deliver the message, mark it as spam, mark it not spam, whitelist the domain, or blacklist the domain.
  2. Once in the Barracuda's interface, users are given very simple controls.

Users may perform actions on their messages without affecting how the Barracuda classifies messages for other users. In other words, one user may choose to whitelist "example.com" while another blacklists it. The Barracuda will process each message independently and apply global rules followed by user-specific rules.

And that's it! Users are empowered to make changes to their mailbox as they see fit without affecting other users' email delivery.
