Providing Greater Service and Support to an Expanding Membership
Lawrence, Kansas: Facilitated by Board Chairperson, Angela Neria (Pittsburg State University), KanREN held its annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the KanREN offices at the Bioscience & Technology Business Center in Lawrence, KS. The annual event provides members an update on the State of the Consortium, an opportunity to celebrate organizational accomplishments, and seeks member input on the strategic direction of the organization.
KanREN announced the results of Board member elections. The following individuals were re-elected to serve on the KanREN Board:
- Sandra Warner, Johnson County Community College
- Denise Grasso, USD 609 Southeast Kansas Education Service Center
- Jeff Hixon, State Library of Kansas
- Sr. Diana Seago, Mount Saint Scholastica
They will serve KanREN consortium constituents along with the following Board members:
- Floyd Davenport, Washburn University
- Cory Falldine, Emporia State University
- Steve Selaya, University of Kansas Medical Center
- Mark Griffin, Fort Hays State University
- Bob Lim, University of Kansas
- Angela Neria, Pittsburg State University
- Rod Caffey, Kansas State University
- Keith Neufeld, Wichita State University
- Michelle Kaiser, Barton Community College
- Andy Jett, Baker University
- Shelby Huddleston, USD 484 Fredonia
- James Sterbenz, University of Kansas
KanREN Executive Director, Cort Buffington, shared organizational updates related to staffing, communication, membership development and technical service enhancements. Buffington highlighted progress on the consortium’s Strategic Plan, and shared implementation plans for KanREN’s 100Gpbs Hyper-Core Network to be completed this Summer. Buffington also shared initiatives and priorities for the coming year.
