Discussion on 10GbE to the Learning Space

You’re invited to join an informal discussion TOMORROW to explore issues surrounding deploying 10GbE connectivity to the Classroom and share approaches around how K-12 districts (or other institutions) are extending 10GbE speeds beyond the core network and into learning spaces.

The hope is to learn from each other how K-12 districts are approaching 10GbE to the classroom and gleen recommendations, approaches or policies that can inform efforts.

  • Standardization of NAT IP spaces
  • Standardization of “trunked” VLANs typically on a core switch
  • Decentralization of switching, pushing port density to the classroom or learning space
  • What is the impact of 11GB wifi speeds (802.11ax) on planning for uplink needs to a classroom or learning space? (dual port, voltage loss, max throughput)
  • What is the impact of multiple POE & POE+ devices?
  • Challenges with BYOD consumer devices in an enterprise environment
  • BYOD Policy
