Providing Greater Service and Support to an Expanding Membership
Lawrence, Kansas: As part of a strategic staff re-alignment, the Kansas Research and Education Network (KanREN) is pleased to announce several new team members to the organization including Lisa Kim-Mason, Heath Barnhart, Neil Kahle, and Shado Jacobs.
“These staffing additions and re-alignments are a pivotal part of KanREN’s multi-year strategic process to improve and grow our organization,” says Cort Buffington, KanREN Executive Director. “I believe we’ve found perfect people to fill these roles. I welcome Lisa, Heath, Neil and Shado to our team and am overjoyed to see Indika bring her outstanding member service skills over to our business operations group.”
Lisa Kim-Mason, Data & Documentation Specialist, joins KanREN with a rich background in Constituent Relations Management (CRM) as a data specialist for non-profit organizations. Lisa brings a unique range of database experiences to this new role for KanREN, including the University of Kansas Museum of Anthropology, the American Jazz Museum, the Kansas City Public Library, and most recently served at Pennington and Company as a Database Administrator.
Indika McCampbell, Product & Services Specialist, is a valued, long-time KanREN employee transitioning from her former position as Applications Specialist. Indika will be providing broader services outreach to members in this new role as part of the Operations Team.
Heath Barnhart, Network Administrator, comes to KanREN from Washburn University Information Technology Services (ITS), where he served in a similar capacity. While at Washburn he worked to upgrade the network infrastructure to current standards and deploy state of the art WiFi through out the Washburn and Washburn Institute of Technology campuses.
Neil Kahle, Network Administrator, served in a variety of roles for Binary Net in Lincoln, Nebraska. He began in technical support and worked his way up to Windows Systems and Network Administration. He received invaluable experience in a wide range of technical areas including Binary Net’s network expansion in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, involving initial installations and improvements to data center monitoring, and troubleshooting issues.
Shado Jacobs, Support Technician, currently attends the University of Kansas where he is studying Computer Engineering. Prior to joining KanREN, he interned with Watco Companies, a short-line railroad company based in Pittsburg, Kansas where he shadowed different areas of the IT department.
